Square-Enix has been busy in recent months, upgrading Final Fantasy X to HD, starting full production on Versus XIII, and announcing something called Final Fantasy Theatrhythm. Most recently, they have announced that the upcoming title, Final Fantasy XIII-2, will have downloadable content.
The company confirmed the rumor during other TGS news, but did not delve further into what the DLC might include. In the aftermath of Final Fantasy XIII, fans clamored for some DLC, as the game seemed to be asking for it with the mass customization of weapons and armor available.
To bide the time to Final Fantasy XIII-2’s release, Square-Enix is releasing a web novel of sorts titled “Final Fantasy XIII Lost Report.” Expected to release in September, the six chapter series will review the events of the first game through the eyes of two non playable characters.
For some, the sequel to FFXIII can’t come soon enough, and for others, the sequel shouldn’t exist at all. I, however, am cautiously excited to see where the story takes us in the beautiful world of Gran Pulse.
