In Nintendo’s latest attempt to make the Nintendo 3DS the go-to handheld for every gamer’s need, they’ve officially announcedthe 3DS Circle Pad add-on will release in Japan on December 10th for 1500 yen ($20). In addition to support for Monster Hunter Tri G, the five 3DS games planning to take advantage of dual pads will be: Resident Evil: Revelations (early 2012), Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D (winter), Ace Combat 3D: Cross Rumble (winter), Dynasty Warriors Vs. (2012) and Kingdom Hearts 3D (TBA).
The additional circle pad will be powered by a single AAA battery and all the hopes and dreams of a handheld that is trying to stay relevant in a shifting industry. No word yet on a US release.


if that picture is at all accurate, then the thing looks massively uncomfortable to use, especially when reaching for the a,b,x,y buttons or the right shoulder button. Furthermore, it just looks ugly and throws off the visual appeal of the system. now i cant speak for anyone else, but if nintendo wants to retain my business they will need to make sure that i can still play the games i want without that thing.
