Steam Trading Out of Beta, Available to Everyone

+

In a stunning display of what can only be described as “anti-Valve time”, Steam’s item trading feature has rapidly shot out of beta and is available to the masses. The feature allows Steam users to trade in game items and unplayed gift copies of games to each other, straight from the client itself.

Currently you can only trade items from Team Fortress 2 and Spiral Knights, but Valve has plans to support Portal 2 soon, along with more third-party games in the coming months.

Another interesting feature is the ability to see the inventories of other people, provided their profile is public. Just don’t go crying to Valve when you realize your friend has been hiding that sweet pyro beanie from you for the past three months.

For more information on the Steam trading system, including what to do if your trade goes wrong, you can view the official FAQ here.
