I’m pretty sure someone at Polish dev house Flying Wild Hog has been reading my diary. First they announce Hard Reset, a PC-exclusive FPS with all the emphasis placed on an immersive single-player campaign, then they give it a $30 price tag, and now they’ve gone and put out a demo for the game before its release date. Seriously, guys, I put a lock on that thing for a reason.
I only got the chance to play through the first five minutes or so, but I was definitely impressed by what I saw. Hard Reset’s custom engine is nothing short of gorgeous, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the game ran smoothly on my aging hardware. The weapon upgrade system is clever and fresh, the enemy designs are imaginative, and the cyperpunk dystopia they’ve created is all the right kinds of gritty.
Actually, you know what’s better than listening to me gush about the game? Playing it for yourself. If you’ve got Steam, you can grab the demo from the game’s store page. If not, it’s available as a stand-alone install over at GamersHell.
The full version of Hard Reset hits Steam next Tuesday, September 13th.

LOVED the demo. Felt like an upgraded, cyberpunk doom, for all the right reasons. I’ll probably buy it, no doubt.
