According to a post on the Batman: Arkham City official forums, Rocksteady’s latest trip into Gotham will be getting added replay value in the form of a New Game Plus mode. The feature will be unlocked after completing the game on either the normal or hard setting, allowing you to replay the campaign with all your accumulated gadgets and XP points intact.
In addition, this second run through the game will also be significantly harder, ditching the counter prompts in the combat sequences and mixing higher level thugs earlier into the game. Boss fights will also be tougher. Rocksteady has said that the game had to be made extra-challenging – after all, the player has the upper hand. The new mode combined with Arkham City’s open environment should provide a ton of extra entertainment, even after you beat the game.
Batman: Arkham City is out on October 18th on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3, with a Wii U release promised for sometime next year.
