Christopher Daniel Barnes, the Spider-Man: Edge of Time voice actor for Miguel O’Hara (the alter-ego of Spider-Man 2099) takes some time to talk about the dynamic between both versions of Spider-Man in the game. You may remember Barnes, whose voice was a part of the animated 1990s Spider-Man show, as well as Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
Edge of Time’s story involves the 2099 universe slowly being destroyed, so O’Hara looks to the Amazing Spider-Man (i.e., our current timeline) for help. What makes this interesting is that from everything the trailers have shown, The Amazing Spider-Man (voiced by fellow Spider-Man alum, Josh Keaton) is concerned with saving his loved ones, while 2099 has the bigger picture in mind. It makes for a standard (but not over-done) Spider-Man story that looks to deliver a great arc, wherein Spidey makes his usual sacrifices. But which Spidey?!

If Edge of Time can fix the minor gameplay quirks that were present in Shattered Dimensions, I think it can be a really solid game. Although, while watching Barnes speak, all I can think about is how much different he looks now than in The Brady Bunch Movie.There’s also a Kane from Command and Conquer joke in there somewhere, but we’ll leave it be.
