Ever since its Japanese release in January, gamers around the world have been eagerly awaiting Valkyria Chronicles III: Unrecorded Chronicles’ release in the rest of the world. Sega has remained completely silent on the matter, and Valkyria Chronicles’ lack of appearance at this year’s E3 has spread doubt of the series continuation here in the west.
The Gallian Liberation Front, a large group of fans dedicated to the series, has recently been created to rally support for bringing the game over to the west, similar to the goals of Operation: Rainfall. At the time of this writing, they have a petition that has 1,106 signatures and two facebook groups with a combined 692 likes.
I have been playing the Valkyria Chronicles series since the original came out back in late 2008. Not only are they the best SRPGs I have ever played, but also rank among my favorite games of all time. It is truly disappointing that there has been no word of the third game coming to the west, but I would like to remind everyone that while there has been no news confirming a localization of the game, there has no news denying such a localization.
You may find the Gallian Liberation Front’s blog and homepage here. This is the very beginning of a group that has the potential to grow quite large, so I highly encourage everyone to show your support for the game by liking the Facebook group, signing the petition, and encouraging your fellow gamers to do the same.
