SSX Trailer Boasts A New (Dubstep) Revolution

01

SNOWBOARDING AHHHHHHHHHHH

If there’s one thing I think of when I think SSX, it’s dubstep. Okay not entirely, but I always find it a little funny when I hear some sort of dubstep/electro song in the background of a video game, even if I do enjoy the music.

Nevertheless, a new trailer for SSX has come wubbing out of Gamescom 2011. Showcasing all of the ridiculousness that many have known to love from SSX, it’s all stapled with the “PRE-ALPHA GAMEPLAY” stamp.

It definitely seems to deliver on what I’d like to see out of the game. Between the small segments of snowboarding insanity, the trailer sheds some light upon the online elements included the game. Taking the form of a service called “RiderNet”, the game will allow you to upload your runs in the form of ghosts, compete online, and participate in Global Events that will support “up to 100,000 players live at once”. There’s no word on exactly how EA will be accomplishing that feat, but it certainly sounds like an intriguing premise.

Catch the new trailer after the break.

SSX is slated for a January 2012 release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
