Those who have always dreamed of pretending to be someone pretending to be Batman are about to have their wish granted, as the upcoming Monolith Studios multiplayer game Gotham City Imposters has begun accepting applications for its closed beta.
The bizarre concept behind the game pits a team of Batman wannabes up against an entire crew decked out in Joker-style clown makeup in a fast-paced shooter. Players will be able to customize their very own Batman or Joker look-alike, fine tune their loadout, and take to the streets of Gotham in what I believe is the world’s first Batman-free Batman game.
The beta for Gotham City Imposters is set to begin in September. The actual game will be released on PC, PSN, and Xbox Live for $14.99 sometime this winter.

This is about as zany as it gets. I like it.
So is this going to be an fps? Or a third person shooter? Either way, this seems like a fun concept. It takes that joke from Dark Knight and turns into a full fledged game.
From what I understand, it’s an FPS. I can only imagine how that developer meeting must have went down:
“We want to make a Batman FPS.”
“Okay, but Batman doesn’t use guns.”
“That’s fine. We won’t put Batman in it.”
“PROMOTE THIS MAN.”
Score. Hoping to get in on the PC beta.
