To the chagrin of many a console gamer, the highly anticipated Xbox 360 version of CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has had its release date pushed from the end of this year to the first calendar quarter of 2012.
The press release that announced the new date change stated that the Xbox 360 version of the game is an adaptation, not a direct port, of the PC version. “This means that the process involves significant changes and improvements for the Xbox 360 console version.”
The team needs more time to expand and polish the game, but it’s not all about development: the press release also announced that Projekt RED is in an ongoing legal debate with Namco Bandai Partners, “concerning distribution of the Xbox 360 version of the game in Western Europe, Asia-Pacific, as well as Central and South America.”
The Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 will be available to play at the Gamescom 2011 tradeshow in Germany. Also on display will be a major DLC pack for the PC version of the game, which released in May and was awarded a 5 out of 5 by Piki Geek.

Does this include the Ps3 version?
To my knowledge, they haven’t even confirmed a PS3 version is in the works.
They said after the Xbox version they would consider it. “Developer CD Projekt Red told Eurogamer it would “love” to make a PS3 version after it’s finished creating the Xbox 360 version.”
