Gas Powered Games, the people behind Age of Empires Online have released both a cinematic trailer and a video of gameplay for you to take a gander at just in case you missed, or didn’t have access to, the beta. Naturally, in order to reach the E10+ rating, the game was made far more accessible to many, and they even brought a bit of comedy into the world of Age of Empires, but the game itself does not deviate far from what’s expected of the series.
Along with attempting to cross the streams to combine MMO and RTS gameplay, you’ll be able to choose from Greece and Egypt as starting cultures when the game releases. However, when the holiday season arrives, they’ll be adding Celtic and Persian cultures, as well as something named a “Skirmish Hall” that looks like a mode featuring group PvP.
Check out the vids after the bump.
As August 16th approaches and Age of Empires Online prepares for its world launch, I’ll definitely be looking forward to the release. My experience from the beta was genuinely positive.
