343 Has Been at Work on Halo 4 for Several Years

When we saw the first trailer for Halo 4 at E3, rumors and speculation were rampant on the internet with talk of how things might turn out, now that the franchise is no longer in Bungie’s loving hands. Though, the truth of the matter is, Halo4 has been in development with 343 Industries for more time than we thought.

At Comic Con, franchise development director Frank O’Connor let slip that he was relieved to finally announce Halo4 at E3, considering that the team had been working in “relative secrecy for a couple of years.” He also gave shout-outs to the 343 team and their predecessors. It stands to reason that while Halo 4 will not have Bungie’s name on it, they will have left their grubby little finger prints on it in one form or another.

Halo 4 will be out sometime around the fourth Quarter of 2012, for the PS4 and Wii U.
