Star Fox 64 3D Blasting into Retail Stores September 9

Check your G-Diffuser systems: Nintendo has announced that its upcoming remake of the legendary – and insanely quotable – N64 space shooter is go for launch September 9.

The release date comes as something as a surprise, considering Nintendo traditionally releases their games on Sundays. However, considering the Sunday of that week happens to be September 11, releasing the game two days earlier seems to be a wise move.

Star Fox 64 3D, like Ocarina of Time 3D before it, features a number of additional features above and beyond its original version. Most noticeably is the game’s visual facelift – not only is the entire game in 3D, but it’s received a full retexturing as well. Combined with an expanded multiplayer mode and optional gyroscope-based controls, there’s a lot for Star Fox fans to look forward to.
