Funcom’s The Secret World is truly attempting to break the MMO mold by axing character levels and classes. Instead, players will choose from a set of archetypes that their character will follow. Choosing an archetype, however, does not preclude players from the buffet of over 500 skills that each character has available to them. This way, players are able to change how their character interacts with the game on the fly and not have to start their character over when they find out that pet groomer is not a favorable profession for fighting demons.
To be honest, I like this idea because there have been many times while playing an MMO that I wished I could have just one skill from another class but couldn’t. What do you level 99 warlock gamekeepers think? Would you like to have every delicious skill available to you, or could it be too overwhelming for your MMO stomach? Sound off in the comments!

I personally am open to new ideas with MMO’s. I think games as is have fallen into a sort of rut, most are not as good as they used to be. I think some fresh new concepts like this should be interesting to try and see how it dynamically changes the ‘feel’.
Could it be that people don’t believe Obama’s rhetoric on FISA? I mean thomas sabo jewellery box, public financing. No, it was 2nd Amendment. No, I mean, public financing. Oh, I meant to say ‘Iraq’.
Funcom has a great history of innovation. I can’t wait to see their take on skill based characters.
