The newest cover of Game Informer has revealed a brand new game from Bethesda and Arkane Studios called Dishonored. The game is a first-person stealth game set in a stylized, futuristic world.
This is the first release by Arkane Studios, creators of Arx Fatalis, since their acquisition by Bethesda, and the game is certainly not lacking in the talent department. The development team boasts Arkane co-founder Raphael Colantonio, Deus Ex developer Harvey Smith, and designer Viktor Antonov, most famous for his creation of City 17 for Half-Life 2.
Dishonored is being described as an open-ended adventure in which player’s actions have a meaningful impact on the world itself. Players will be able to decide how they tackle various mission objectives, ranging from stealth-oriented approaches to head-on battles.
Dishonored is set for release sometime in 2012 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Given the ambitious vision and the pedigree of the development team, this will definitely be one to watch.

hopefully this wont be another brink! if its disign is going to be half life 2 quality then i am really excited to see this.
Brink wasn’t all that bad – it’s only problem was that you either thought of it as great game or a horrible game. I think that was what the developers were going for.
I’m worried this is going to turn into another Hunted. And I’m also wondering how they’re going to implement “stealth” and “open-world” gameplay elements at the same time.
Here’s hoping for a stealth game on the level of Deus Ex and Thief 2.
The description makes it sound exactly like a Deus Ex: Human Revolution clone, to the letter. Maybe it’s a Deus Ex 1 clone as well, but I never “got” “stealth-based” from DX, but all I know is DX:HR definitely emphasizes stealth, even if it isn’t necessarily “ghosting” rather than shifting through cover to gain the tactical advantage… but I digress.
Hopefully, Bethesda just slapping their name on it has nothing to do with the final product (e.g. Fallout: New Vegas and Obsidian), where quality is concerned, because until Skyrim comes out and makes me eat these next words I am still convinced ~they are shitty developers~. That said, I could live with either a second DX:HR or some kind of malformed lovechild between it and the other Bethesda staples (TES, Fallout 3), as long as it’s heavily modifiable
Seriously heh, you go out come up with a concept for a game, design said game, program said game and bring it back to me. Then i shall critique your game and tell you if you are a shitty developer. Sounds like a good plan?
“I’d like to see you do better *crosses arms*” is not and has never been a valid argument you fucking pleb
