Off the Record, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record Releases October 11th

Yesterday, Capcom threw up a post on their European Community Blog revealing the North American and European launch dates for the Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. According to that announcement, the game will be hitting North American retailers on October 11th of this year, with a European release following three days later. It was all pretty straightforward up until the point where the post vanished without a trace.

As of right now, all that remains is a shiny 404 page and the sworn accounts of a few game journalists. Given the manner in which the leak occurred, the announcement was probably just premature and not outright false. In all likelihood, those launch dates will remain intact whenever the official official announcement comes.

Off the Record reimagines the events of last year’s Dead Rising 2 with war-covering photojournalist Frank West returning to replace Chuck Greene as the protagonist. The reimagining will feature a host of technical improvements, as well as new weapons, enemies, locations and story elements.
