Square Enix Cancel Project Dropship. Project Whatsawhonow?
For whatever reason, perhaps because Squeenix are massive trolls, footage has cropped up on the internet of the recently canceled Project Dropship. What’s that you say? Never heard of Project Dropship? Well that’s hardly surprising seeing as how the game hadn’t yet been officially announced before today’s news of cancellation.
Had it come out, it would have been a download title for the Xbox and PS3 platforms. It would’ve been a fairly simple looking top down squad based shooter set in colorful sci-fi themed worlds with an emphasis on cooperative play. If you’d like to see the footage, you can do so after the break and wander about in the land of might-have-beens. Otherwise, continue about your day as usual and pay no heed to this giant tease.
Is that an in-game screenshot? It looks like DX 11 at least.
I would most likely have gotten this. oh well. It might even get picked up elsewhere.
They probably determined it did not meet their angst quota. Prepare for Final Fantasy XV.
Or at last FF XIII versus?!

Curious how far along in development this was.
Damn. That game actually looked fun, unlike most Squeenix games these days.
My guess as to why it got canceled: Too much gameplay, not enough cutscenes.
