A report on Eurogamer is telling us that the much-anticipated Mass Effect 3 will have a standalone multiplayer component with 4-player cooperative play. At the same time, they’re telling us that it’ll have “competitive elements” and a horde-based gamemode.
Now, it’s 3 AM in Australia, so instead of reasonably concluding that it’s going to be an arcade-type shooting gallery co-op multiplayer mode a la Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, like I would if I were more than half conscious, I’m going to have to guess that the multiplayer component of our beloved Mass Effect will be a bunch of Kinect-driven edutainment puzzles. It’s only logical.
In all seriousness, BioWare is completely clamming up about this, refusing to confirm or deny anything about a possible Mass Effect multiplayer component, only saying “We haven’t talked at all about multiplayer in the Mass Effect franchise, but we’re exploring multiplayer in all of our games and all of our franchises.”

It would be cool if you could play with different consoles, with this I mean PS3 with PC (like portal 2). Most of the people I know will buy the console version.
Yes console independent version would be dream come true.
