When it comes to the realm of the imaginary, whether it’s games, film or literature, the phrase “suspension of disbelief” is often used to describe the mindset needed to be immersed in the experience of the work. The new SSX trailer—which has been released by EA as part of their ramp-up to E3 next week—makes suspending disbelief a cause for serious concern, if you value your stomach contents.

First and foremost, this pre-alpha footage looks gorgeous. As a launch title for PS2, the original SSX featured some of the best-rendered and smoothest graphics of its day. The trailer for the reboot shows that EA has not fallen behind the times when it comes to digital snow & lens flares. The soundtrack for this reboot had a lot to live up to, and the developers seem content to stick with what works in the form of pulsing high-energy electronic beats. The character Mac, a series favorite, was revealed to be making a return, along with the previously-announced Elise. Look for more details on the new version of SSX in the coming weeks.

Gameplay is looking a LOT like I really want it to, arcade-y and full of awesome insane tricks!
Hope we keep seeing these like this, because I want to be sooo stoked for this game!
I can’t wait. I can always do with another arcady type game. I love the original game so much.
I remember Playing SSX Tricky a lot. That game was sweet. Way better than 1080.
