Dead or Alive Hits a Roadblock In Sweden

Uh-oh, looks like there’s trouble in the land of metal and ordinary meals. Nintendo of Europe along with Bergsala released a joint statement to Eurogamer Sweden, saying that they would not be releasing Dead or Alive: Dimensions in Sweden, Norway or Denmark. Begsala decided it wouldn’t be a great idea to distribute the game after a forum poster remarked that three of the DoA characters that pose for the player in Figure Mode are under 18.

Now, here’s the trouble: While that doesn’t directly violate the law in Sweden, it did make the distributor nervous. The worst part is that the original poster’s intent was not to get the game banned – in fact, it was to actually get the law itself changed to be less strict. Woops!

One wonders if something that makes *anyone* more ashamed of Dead or Alive is such a bad thing. I mean, that combo system! Juggles for days.

Team Ninja really needs to work on its juggle physics.
