What do you do when your company is being hit with problem after problem? Well, that answer’s obvious: jump off the sinking ship, just like John Blakely did, as he resigned from his post at Sony Online Entertainment last month. Blakely, formerly the vice president of development at SOE, is now the general manager of Zynga’s Austin studio. That’s right, the guy who played a major role in DCUO, Everquest II and Star Wars Galaxies will now be working on Farmville, Mafia Wars and other casual games.
It seems they departure was on at least civil terms though, as an SOE statement sent to Kotaku thanked Blakely for “the passion and leadership he brought to work every day and fully support him in his future endeavors.”
I know the whole Sony being hacked scandal (which included SOE users) is probably pretty damaging to a guy’s career, but I never thought he’d have to sink to the level of spamming my facebook account. I don’t want to be a vampire, and I really don’t want to milk your cow.
Don’t make me call sexual harassment panda on you.
