According to statements made at an investor call today, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that Nintendo’s new platform allows them to “be able to leverage a lot of the work [Ubisoft does] for Xbox 360 and PS3 while we create games for the platform,” and that “The platform Nintendo is coming with is really a fantastic platform. We think it will be extremely successful.”
Statements like these are a clue as to what we can honestly expect from the platform that Nintendo will finally release at this year’s E3. Can we expect a more standardized platform out of Nintendo this time around? It seems so, as Guillemot went on to say that “…we will not have to redo completely the games that we create.”
I feel that this does suggest an element of standardization that we didn’t see with the Nintendo Wii or the DS. However, both became extremely successful because of there difference and arguably “gimmicky” attractions. It’s obviously still up in the air what we’ll see this year, but I have high hopes. Now all I have to do is wait for E3 to come — just going to sit here, twiddle my thumbs and hum.

Yeah, so Ubisoft can continue to make their Imaginz series and all the other crappy games that they kept bring out for the Wii?
Yeah, I’m pretty excited… PAUSE NOT!!!
Hopefully this means we’ll finally have a Nintendo console with some third-party games worth a damn.
Well, most likely the newest multi-consoles will be released on “project cafe”. I still won’t buy that console until I see like 10 good exclusives.
