According to a Kotaku interview with Rockstar, the 360 version of L.A. Noire is going to require three separate disks. This does not mean that you will be forced to get up and switch your game disks every two minutes, though. The way they have structured the game, you will only have two points in which you well be required to put in the next disk to progress the story.
While the three disk requirement is partially a testament to the amount of content within the game, most of the extra space is probably for the new facial animations, and other technology Rockstar has included to make the game feel more realistic. All of those new animations and ways of immersing you in the game can take a ton of space on a disk, so it should be no surprise that they needed three to get the game out. PlayStation owners, however, will only have one Blu-Ray disk to worry about when playing L.A. Noire when it is released May 17th.

Oof three disks, pretty intense but yeah makes sense with all those facial animations, too bad for all those modders 3 discs to waste heh
It makes complete sense though, I wonder if these are using the new “Space-increasing” discs that Microsoft has been working on?
I don’t care either way. But it would be nice if I could rip all of these to my 360s hdd and then only have to use one disk to fire up the game. I cant wait it feels like an early xmas. Thanks Rockstar.
And PC players will have no discs to worry about because Rockstar has given up on us.
Hey, you’ll have something to look forward to when R* finally releases RDR and L.A. Noire as a PC double pack in 2035.
It’s all about Red-Ray , it harnesses the power of the sun and has 1000000000 terabits of.. OH MY GOD IM ONFIRE!
Considering gta IV was only 1 disk there is probably a ton of more stuff to do in l.a. noire. I can’t wait till its released.
