Has Ubisoft accidentally let slip the skinny on a new Assassins Creed game? That would seem to be the case after an amateur sleuth stumbled upon a Facebook page that heavily hints at a new title in the popular series.
The link had been mistakenly posted on the main Assassin’s Creed Facebook page, and although swiftly taken down by Ubisoft, members of the NeoGAF gaming forum were able to view a cached version of the page and get to work divining its meaning. Exploration of the site yielded a logo for the new game, titled “Assassins Creed Revelations”, and a banner that alluded to a big reveal in the May 14 edition of Game Informer magazine.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves and crown this new game Assassin’s Creed 3. Since the original tale of Altair came out a few years ago there have been a handful of AC games, and the only one that was a major sequel was Assassin’s Creed 2. Thus, obvious though it may be, it’s worth pointing out that this rumored game is not numbered, but rather subtitled.
Might it be the 3DS title Ubisoft confirmed not long ago? Or perhaps a third game to feature Ezio Auditore that wraps up his popular storyline? The title Revelations suggests backstory as opposed to main plot, and while the world seems to be expecting AC3 will be announced/released this year, there is nothing concrete to suggest that we’re looking at it.
Still, given how immensely enjoyable the series has been over the past two years or so, any new AC games is a cause to celebrate. So while I might be hoping for some, ahem, revelations about just what the hell the ending of Brotherhood was all about, I’d also be perfectly happy with any sort of runny-jumpy-stabby murder game.

A 3ds Assassin’s creed could be fun if it’s done correctly. It would be nice to see something that isn’t Mario/Zelda/N64 port
The real question is whether they were Cheesy Poofs or Cheetoes.
In this one, you play as Shakespeare and hit people with books.
