Who ever said BioWare never did anything for you? Nobody, that’s who, with the unveiling of the BioWare Sequel Celebration promotion.
The Canadian developer announced Tuesday that sales of Dragon Age II have broken 1 million in just under two weeks, faster than Dragon Age: Origins. As a thank-you gesture, BioWare is offering Mass Effect 2 for free with the redemption of their Online Pass content that comes with the game.
The blockbuster sequel to 2007′s faster-than-light RPG, Mass Effect 2 was released in January 2010, was a massive success and is one of the most highly rated titles you can get today. Even though the BioWare Social Network key is distributed with any version of Dragon Age II (console or desktop), you would only get Mass Effect 2 for Windows in return. You would, however, get the game regardless of where you redeem the code.
Early adopters should have no fear, for those who already signed up for the Black Emporium can download the game with no trouble. Even if you haven’t picked up the cross-platform RPG yet, anyone who signs in between now and the end of April 2011 will have ME2 appear in their available downloads.
Dragon Age II, rated M or your regional equivalent, was released last month for Windows, OS X, the PS3, and the Xbox 360. Though less solid of a release than its predecessor, Dragon Age II is still a good game on its own merit. Bundled with such a fantastic companion, though, should really put it in your mind as a deal not to miss.

I would really love to know why they did this. Is it because of all the DAII disappointment? Don’t try and convince me that EA is just “doing something nice”.
I have a mac, I don’t know what to do with mine… D=
What about Steam users? is that going to work any different?
Yes, I would also like to know about steam. Can I buy DAII on steam and get ME2 for free? If so I’ll do it.
I really wanna get these both for console though… Guess I’ll be waiting for the “ultimate” edition when it drops with all the DLC.
You know what, I realized I’d only be buying DAII in order to get ME2, I’d rather just buy cheaper ME2 instead of blowing full price for a game I don’t want to get. It’s like getting a bank account for the toaster instead of just buying the damn toaster.
