Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City Trailer

06

REORC

Here’s the first trailer for Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City. ORC will be revisting the Resident Evil 2 and 3 storylines from an alternate perspective, with appearances from the series’ most recognizable recurring characters and enemies. The title will be built around four-player co-op, and from this trailer it seems easy to draw strong comparisons to games like Left 4 Dead. Hell, with zombies and four player co-op it’s nearly impossible to not draw that comparison. It also seems that this might be the most action packed Resident Evil game we’ve seen in a while, as there’s quite clearly footage of people moving and shooting at the same time.

At the end of the trailer, we see that a familiar face will be returning to the Resident Evil series. We won’t spoil it for you, but this is all pretty exciting for fans, even if the changes in gameplay might wind up alienating some series stalwarts.

Check out the trailer (and who’s returning) after the jump.

Operation Raccoon City is currently slated for a winter release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

I still have no idea what this game is going to be like and no amount of press releases or teaser trailers is going to help. Lets see some real gameplay!

Glad to see Leon is back and I can’t wait for Wesker to appear somewhere in this game. So far I am looking forward to it.

While it’s too early to tell, I feel that ultimately I’m going to dislike this game. RE5 was a disgrace to the series, and while I understand spin offs and remakes are allowed to sort of do their own thing, it bothers me that the series on a whole is going more and more down the action route. Honestly, if I could just get a legitimate numbered entry in the series that went back to roots, I’d be fine. They can do whatever they want past that. I would just really like at least one more RE game that is annoying as hell to control, and is legitimately scary.

I can judge the game yet, since i havent played it, but so far im excited to explore in it. Most of the Resident Evil games were enjoyable, until Re5 came along and let me down abit. There was no horror, mostly action, but for the story line, it was excellent. Im still a big FAN of the Resident Evil franchise.
