The guys over at Destructoid recently had an opportunity to sit down for an interview with Phil Fish, one of the co-creators of Fez, who talked about Fez possibly coming to PC and PSN eventually. When asked about his game on other platforms, Fish said, “PC and PSN would also make a lot of sense, but in my opinion, WiiWare just wouldn’t be worth our time and effort. It’s a dismal system that I don’t want to deal with neither as a customer, nor a developer,” and then continued to use a rather blunt obscenity to further express his disgust about the WiiWare platform, which can be read in the full interview.
If anyone is still wondering if WiiWare might pick up in content anytime soon, I think the answer is probably going to be a “NO” if Fish’s views about the system are anywhere close to popular opinion among developers. If Nintendo is hoping to stay competitive in the digital marketplace, they are going to have to implement some of the features that make the other platforms so easy to use on a daily basis. It is not at all surprising that the developers hate the system as much as most of the consumers do.

Dang, I thought I bashed the Wii for being last Gen like…
Good call though, I can’t remember the last time I saw any advertising for Wiiware on much of anything that Nintendo puts out. At least PC has steam that runs front page ads, and PSN has ads as well. Was there anyword of a XBLA edition?
