FOX News Gives Duke Nukem Forever a Reassuring Slap on the Ass

Having single-handedly prevented any sales of Bulletstorm with an article level-headedly and unsensationally proclaiming it “the worst video game in the world”, FOX News has turned its attention to Duke Nukem Forever. This time it’s not just dick jokes and cartoon violence that FOX has taken offense to, but DNF’s recently-revealed Capture the Babe multiplayer mode.

It’s a game mode that involves slapping a virtual woman on her virtual ass. Terrible, right?

It’s easy to see how, to someone unfamiliar with the game, its history and its style (i.e. your average FOX News reader) this would seem like a horribly sexist and evil game, ready to corrupt the youth of America just like D&D in the 80’s and rap music in the 90’s. What FOX seems to be missing, though, is that DNF is intentionally big, brash, violent, sexist and retarded. It’s a parody of the shooter genre and of itself, even more so than Bulletstorm was.

I was going to write a point-by-point rebuttal of FOX’s article, but frankly I can’t be bothered. If you can, you can read the article in question here.

Fox news: your reliable news source for identifying what is destroying the moral fabric society, one paranoid rant at a time.

Wow…some people need to look at other entertainment media than just the gaming industry for this level of vulgarity. Lots of TV shows, movies, books, and magazines showcase this kinda stuff, and some go even farther!

Props to you, FOX news, your the real hero here

I’m sure the creators of DNF are loving this. All Fox is doing is giving it free publicity.
