It is this writer’s humble opinion that the Resident Evil series has seen better days. After the action-heavy buddy game that was Resident Evil 5, it seems Capcom has decided that the series’ immediate future is less promising than its past.
Capcom has revealed Biohazard: Revival Selection for the Xbox 360 and PS3 via this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. The package will contain HD remakes of both Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica, arguably two of the better entries in the series.
Unfortunately, there were no other details, including the ever important release date and price. We’ll have more for you when it becomes available.

As someone who hasn’t played RE4 yet (I know, I know) I’m hoping this finds its way into the States. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t simply because it’s been released on 3 systems already and five might be pushing it. Then again, HD remakes are doing well lately so you never know.
I love resident evil 4 but unless they add something new gameplay wise I really can’t see myself buying it again since I already beat it on gamecube and wii.
Seconded. Who knows if this is a stall for time while they work out the brilliant new future for the series or a desperate bid at reminding us HEY YOU LOVED US BEFORE RIGHT WE’RE STILL PRETTY RIGHT?!?
I’ve always wanted to play RE4, but I only have a 360. I was hoping they would go the route of beyond good and evil and release it on xbla for under $20, but if its two games packaged together, that might be worth it.
Hah! My friend just bought RE:CV for $20, he’s gunna be soooo mad when I tell him about this xD.
Not sure if I’ll get this though, I beat the HECK out of RE4 (like 6 times), and RE:CV didn’t really interest me that much, maybe I’ll do it though…
I wonder if they are going to change anything in RE4. I would love to see some stuff from RE5 in RE4, like the increased amount of melee moves and maybe even the inventory system (it was limiting, but I really liked not having to pause the game every time to switch weapons). Needs more boulder punching too.
The price will really determine whether I buy this or not, and if they are sold separately.
It wasn’t the best one but I was a huge fan of Code Veronica. I may have to look into buying this……again. Stupid Capcom and porting every damn thing multiple times.
I’m not sure if i like this trend of giving old games HD remakes. On the one hand it makes the game more accessible for younger generations and gives it a newer look, but it also seems like they’re just making it to get money off the old fans who’ll buy it anyway, and so they can stall making a new game.
I’m cool with this as long as they keep the same RE4 controls. If they turn it into a damn third-person shooter, like RE5, I’m gonna be pissed.
The RE4 control scheme was in RE5!
I wonder if they’re going to charge full price…
So… the PC version of re4 basically?
