While many indie games favor simplicity over production values, fledgling Los Angeles-based indie studio, Adhesive Games is leaning in a decidedly different direction. Their first title, Hawken, is an FPS in which huge, deadly robots fight one another to the death. While from an aesthetic standpoint it somewhat resembles the Mech Warrior series, Hawken’s gameplay looks much more fast paced and reminiscent of something like Virtual-On.
As an indie developer, it’s likely that Adhesive Games is developing Hawken as a downloadable title. While there is no word yet on platforms, a release date or price, it’s a good bet that Hawken will appear on Steam, if not Xbox Live Arcade and PSN as well. I think everyone could use a bit more giant robot combat in their lives, so head past the break to see Hawken’s debut trailer.
