In case you were wondering why you can’t get on the PlayStation Network right now, it’s because Sony’s tinkering behind the scenes as part of some scheduled maintenance that’ll last for just under eleven hours.
During this time, the PlayStation Store, PSN account manager and PSN registration will be out of action, as will online gaming across the PSN platform.
The good news for Americans is the downtime will mostly take place during the afternoon or early evening. Unfortunately in Europe (a continent wholly despised by Sony) the downtime will knock out an entire evening’s worth of prime gaming hours in European timezones.
Sony expects PSN to be back up and running by 3am GMT Thursday (10pm EST, 7PM PST Wednesday).
