Valve’s Gabe Newell is so confident in its new Steam Guard technology that he’s giving out his Steam username and password. Of course, if you try to log in using his details on any machine other than the one designated by him, it won’t work.
That’s thanks to the unholy combination of Steam Guard and Intel’s new IPT technology, which prevents anyone from logging into your Steam account from any machine other than your own PC. Of course, this is an optional security feature, and is only available on new Intel chips with IPT technology.
Check out a video of Gabe demonstrating the new hardware-based DRM technology at Cebit 2011 after the jump.
