A Tower Defense I’m actually Interested in: Orcs Must Die!

orcs-must-die-2

Robot Entertainment just released a gameplay trailer for a, dare I say it, exciting new tower defense game.  The game is called Orcs Must Die, and it plays like a 3rd person action game with tower defense and dungeon keeper elements tossed in for good measure.  Players have to take on huge waves of orc hordes, while dropping down brutal traps, and trying to protect your castle.

It’s set to drop on PC and Consoles this year, but hit the jump for the game play trailer to see what this unique take on tower defense is all about.

Excuse me yhBLAZED, but I’m afraid we are going to have to take you out back for a few minutes. I’m sorry? You’re concerned about gun in hands? Listen bro, we’re just going practice some skeet shooting. With a machine gun. All the cool kids are doing it.

I’m curious as to how extensively this game goes in the upgrade paths. I’m one for working all the way up and then sorta leaving games alone for awhile. At least with something like this.

The art direction looks similar to Overlord, but with a jump button. Should be fun.

If there’s multiplayer I’ll definitely buy it, otherwise I’m holding out for Dungeon Defenders.
