Twitches of Life Seen in Mirror’s Edge Franchise

After EA’s recent rejection of DICE’s Mirror’s Edge 2 pitch, all seemed lost for the free-running franchise. However there are indications that EA is not completely opposed to keeping Mirror’s Edge franchise alive. According to a recent statement given to 1UP, EA says it regards Mirror’s Edge as an “important franchise”, and offered no confirmation that the sequel had been canned. Instead, EA said that DICE was busy working on Battlefield 3 and had “nothing further to announce”

Despite a lukewarm reception from critics, Mirror’s Edge spawned a successful iOS spin-off, and is generally praised for introducing some innovative gameplay ideas. Here’s hoping the franchise can find its feet again in the future.
