This weekend, Piki Geek held a little contest to see which one of our readers could whip up the best gaming haiku. What ensued was a long, bloody battle, full of syllable counting, sabotage attempts and mono no aware. The selection process was equally brutal, and though it took the deaths of an editor, three staff writers and 74 innocent bystanders, we finally crawled out of that smoldering boardroom with a list of ten names.
Hit the jump to see who emerged victorious.
Top prize goes to reader Carbonics, who gave us this gem:
My name is Shepherd
And this is my favorite
haiku on the thread
He lost a few points for misspelling Commander Shepard’s name, but in the end, we couldn’t resist the humor, the charm, or the implied likelihood that Carbonics had entered every haiku contest on the Internet with that exact same poem.
The nine runners-up, in no particular order, are:
If one of those names is you and you’d like to claim your prize (or if you’d just like to see all the entries), hit up the original thread here.
Be sure to keep on the lookout for future contests, because if there’s one thing we’re about here at Piki Geek, it’s showering our readers with gifts until we’re forced to file for Chapter 11.
