AIAS Winners Announced, Mass Effect 2 Takes Top Honors

Last night saw the 14th Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Interactive Achievement Awards ceremony – essentially the video game industry’s equivalent of the Oscars (no, SpikeTV Video Game Awards, you will never have claim to that title).

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption was the night’s biggest winner, taking home five awards including Action Game of the Year and Outstanding Character Performance.  However, top honors were reserved for BioWare’s Mass Effect 2, which took home three awards including Game of the Year.  Of course, there were plenty of other winners that night, notably Limbo, which was named Adventure Game of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design.  Not bad for a team of less than 10 people working on their first title.

Continue reading for the full list of last night’s big winners.
