Blizzard Demands Sacrifice of 25,000 Facebook Likes for Diablo 3 Image

Just as we had begun to wonder again why Diablo 3 was taking so long, the answer presents itself. Apparently playing a game of one-upmanship with the Warcraft team, the Diablo 3 team has begun requesting 25,000 Facebook likes for visual proof that their hostage product is still alive and kicking. This has produced a torrent of likes for the team, but also comments along the lines of “WTF, people, where is the next Diablo sequel?!” and “Dammit, Blizzard. Screenshots lead to Likes, not the other way around!”

The concern and frustration are palpable, at least for the fans of the game. No word yet from the team about the actual status of the project or even if they have time for it anymore, what with all the popularity contests going on at Blizzard. Looks like somebody forgot Wil Wheaton’s sage advice for gamers, the people suing them and everyone else: Don’t be a dick!

Be sure to check out the team’s Facebook page for some predictably sweet screenshots and concept art, while enjoying the greatest game of all: Non-Zero Sum.

That’s just silly. Blizzard really seems to have been destroying their excellent reputation as of late.
