Fans of stealth-action games on the PS3 are probably still a bit peeved that Splinter Cell: Conviction never arrived on the platform. But now at least they can bask in the glory of 3D versions of the first three Splinter Cell games. The Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD will feature remastered high definition versions of Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory, and will be playable in 3D.
In addition to the Splinter Cell collection, there will also be a 3D HD Prince of Persia collection, which will give you The Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and The Two Thrones. These collections are offering some of the best games of their respective genres from the previous generation, just with better graphics and headache-inducing 3D (you’re free to ignore this feature if you so desire).
Don’t get me wrong, Conviction is a good game, but if I’m given the choice between that and Chaos Theory in full high definition, I’m going to pick Chaos Theory every time. Luckily for me I do have that choice, and on March 22 both collections will be available on PSN and Blu-ray for $39.99.
