How I Spent All Damn Day Playing with Pokemon Stats

As most of you already know, Piki Geek is part of the larger company, Pikimal.com. Sure, us cool kids over at Geek spend a vast majority of the day playing Super Meat Boy and posting about how awful Square is these days, but the code monkeys over in the Pikimal offices actually do work. Like, real work.

This morning, I received an email stating that the Piki for Pokemon was live and updated on the site, and to give it a once-over to make sure everything was correct. (For those of you who don’t know, “Pikis” are the tools we create to objectively determine the best item for you, based on your own personal preference. We usually use it for stuff like cameras and cars, but sometimes us nerds get some sweet gaming Pikis made for us.)

I’ll cut to the chase now. The Pokemon Piki is awesome. I virtually spent my entire day effing around with it, figuring out the most strongest Ghost type from the original 150, or the cutest tank Pokemon. Seriously, it was endlessly fascinating, and I wholeheartedly suggest you mess around with it yourself.

pokeStats

Now, the link above will take you to pre-made settings that were put together a while ago, which are kind of generic, but I’d recommend jumping straight to the sliders page, where you can sort by individual PokeStats, Type, Region, and a bunch of other cool aspects (like ferocity and cuteness). If you were a portable gamer in the 90s, I’m sure this will be completely captivating.

Check it out now.

Please pick Pikachu purposefully poised, prancing past Pokemon poorly postulating Pikimal’s paramount practicality.

Strongest Ghost type from the original 150? But there was only one evolutionary chain of Ghost types!

Gengar was battling a Nidorino. In those days, all his attacks were normal with the exception of poison sting. It was a very one sided match.

LOL! Caterpie trains so hard to evolve from the weakest 1st generation pokemon into the 2nd weakest 1st generation pokemon! Talk about bad luck.

Honestly, I don’t like having it auto-update as I’m putting in stats. It makes it annoying slow.

    Or maybe I’m just cranky.
