Uh oh, the EA store has done it this time. Nothing takes the excitement out of a huge announcement like an online retail listing. The EA Store has put Mass Effect 3 up for Pre-Order for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, meaning the rumors that had been circulating about the game’s existence appear to be true. The listing aptly describes the game as such: “Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth.” Dun dun dun. How foreboding.
Unfortunately, it seems we’ll have to wait a while longer for a release date as the store doesn’t detail when the game’s due out. But hey, maybe EA can spoil the surprise on that one as well. Nevertheless, be sure to check out the 2010 VGA awards tomorrow night for the official announcement of the game.
