Viacom to Harmonix: “We’ll Keep the DLC.”

After giving rhythm gamers and Harmonix workers a mild heart attack this morning, Viacom told Joystiq that they will still support the insanely profitable DLC portions of Rock Band and Dance Central. This will continue until they find another buyer *cough*Activision*cough* for their once-dominating-but-now-increasingly-irrelevant music franchises.

So have no fear. If you were worrying that a game series consistently putting vocals last on its list of “Stuff 2 Do Well” wouldn’t be around for the upcoming posthumous release by one of HIStory‘s greatest singers, don’t. We now know somebody will get around to it.
