We all know that Microsoft has to be a bit peeved about losing the exclusive rights to the Mass Effect franchise, but if this latest rumor is true, we might see some serious turmoil in the BioWare/Microsoft relationship. According to a German moderator on BioWare’s forums, the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 will include an interactive comic to allow players to make all the decisions from the original Mass Effect that can affect the story in Mass Effect 2. Additionally, all the previous DLC released will be included with the PS3 version.
The most interesting thing though, and what might cause a bit of a scuffle between BioWare and Microsoft, is that there will be additional DLC for the PS3 version which will add approximately six hours of gameplay. While it hasn’t been stated that this content will be exclusive to the PS3, we do know that Sony would want compensation for a late release. There is definitely a precedent here, with the PS3 version of Bioshock having exclusive DLC, but the statement was not 100% clear, so those of us who own Mass Effect 2 for the 360 or the PC will just have to wait and hope that this DLC comes our way too.
